1) Resident of Mashtaga settlement in Baki Khalilova Valida Memmed gizi appealed to Committee concerning his son’s death during his military service. The aggrieved was supplied with juridical aid and appealed Europe Human Rights Court at present.

2) Resident of Salyan district Agayev Ilyas Balakishi appealed to committee concerning his son’s execution with tortures during his military service. Committee defended the aggrieved person’s rights on Military Court on Felony crimes. According to sentence of court dated February 21, 2008 Aliyev Zakir Ali oglu was put into prison for 7 years and 6 months. On the other hand committee aided the aggrieved and made Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan Republic to pay compensation for Agayev Ilyas Balakishi oglu in the amount of 73 824 manat according to civil claim rules.

3) Committee aided judicially Aliyev Rafig Seymur oglu who lost his left arm from torture got in military service. Committee raised a claim before Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan Republic according to civil claim rules and made the victim to be provided with compensation in the amount of 25 806 manat.

4) Inhabitant of Qejer-Zeyid village of Guba district Jamiyev Shemseddin Gurbet ohlu appealed to the Committee with the fact of being beaten by Representative of Execution Body of Guba district. At present Committee advocates as his representative in court procedures. The complaint is heard on Guba District Court.

5) Citizen of Turkey Republic Gunaltay Keskin Ahmed was robbed of his buses illegally that carried to Azerbaijan and on this motive appealed to Committee. Committee aids Turkey citizen judicially and has already appealed to concerning state bodies.

6) Inhabitant of Surakhani district, present prisoner in Punitive Institution No.4 Shahbazova Namida Memmed gii appealed to Committee concerning restoration of maternity rights. Committee raised a claim as a representative of aggrieved person before the Surakhani District Court and her maternity rights (son – Hajiyev Aykhan Adalet oglu) were restored.

7) Inhabitant of Sumgayit city, Gasimova Khayala Adalet gizi appealed to Committee concerning execution of her husband with tortures during his military service. Committee began defence of her rights and appealed to concerning state bodies according investigation of the motive and to be appreciated legally.


Note: Organization has aided legally about 250 citizens up today.

The Swedish military has accused French soldiers of torturing civilians during the EU-led Operation Artemis in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2003, one of the bloc's first joint missions. Five years ago, the European Union sent some 1,500 soldiers to DR Congo as part of a UN mission to take action against the bandits marauding the north-eastern part of the country. The troops were there to protect the civilians.
